I believe I have a strong self image, however, it is constantly improving. While I believe in myself, I am my own worst critic and I often find I am too hard on myself. By the time I discovered this tendency within myself it had already become a habit. Habits do not disappear over night and I fight against this tendency daily. My ability to see this negative habit and address it when necessary helps to improve my self-image. I love taking on challenges and risks. But I struggle to do so when other people are involved because I do not want my failure to effect them. However, if the failure will only effect myself then I am happy to take on the challenge. I have found that fear is my worst enemy and it is often the thing that holds me back. After making this observation I have made a goal to find things that cause fear and confront them. This helps to remind me that I am capable of far more than I think. Continuing to improve my self-image is critical to being a good leader because I will be able to take risks, not allow fear to hold me back, and look beyond myself to develop positive relationships with those around me.
